My Story
MY PHILOSOPHY
UK based, Icelandic born, jewellery artist Anna Maria Pitt studied silversmithing and jewellery design at New Bucks University where she graduated with honours. In her work, Anna Maria uses cold connection techniques to create handcrafted sculptural jewellery, inspired by natural objects.
“Growing up in Iceland, a country of great natural beauty, I was surrounded by endless motifs that I still draw upon in my work. Cold connecting my pieces allows me to create a tension between these unrestrained inspirations and the rigorous elements of metal by fusing abstract movement with the rigid arrangement of form. Cold connected objects are also universal and reversible and can ultimately be returned to their original natural state.”
